Have you been to Jog Falls yet?

Jog Falls is huge and one of the beautiful falls. Water Falls and the surrounding greenery is a bliss. Sharavathi river flowing through the western ghats of Karnataka forms this Jog Falls also known as Gerusoppa Falls and Jogada Gundi. In fact, it is not a single water fall, four different falls together forms Jog Falls. They even have names – Raja, Rani, Roarer and Rocket! Linganamakki Dam has been built across river Sharavathi near to Jog falls for hydroelectric power.

I have been here number of times. However this year I saw number of people sharing the videos and pictures with huge amount of milky water gushing down, especially when the gates of Linganamakki Dam were opened due to heavy rain. My love for water falls got me into dreaming and I visited in mid September. Water amount has come down as the rain has stopped now. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the beauty and the scenery as if I am visiting for the first time.

There are number of view points from where you can enjoy the water falls view. One request for the visitors and the folks who is managing the visiting area, keep it clean please! Bit disappointment, looks like a run-down place. There is a small entry fee to get in. There is parking place for your vehicles. Approach road is decent and the drive is beautiful too with some road curves and greenery around.

Here is my small video of the falls. Enjoy and visit the falls, ideally between July and December.
